With first
place all wrapped up by Doug Gust of Team Suzuki in the
ATVA/ITP Grand National Championship Motocross Series,
the battle for second is now the focus of the fans, and
it's one of the closest battles we've seen in the
series.
The excitement continues
at MX 338 in Southwick, Massachusetts, July 31-August 1.
Anything can happen as
the fantastic four challenge each other for second
place. John Natalie (Yamaha), with 195 points is
currently in second place. But Honda factory rider Tim
Farr is a close third with 183 points, Kory Ellis
(Yamaha) has 171 points to hold down the fourth spot and
Jeremiah Jones (Yamaha) has 166 points in fifth. They'll
be giving their all to claim second place in the series.
The MX 338 track is one
of the most challenging tracks in the series as the
smooth, soft sand becomes rough and rutted as ATVs tear
up the track. Southwick fans are some of the best in the
nation as they come out by the thousands to cheer on the
top ATV MX racers in the nation and their local
favorites.
The gates open at MX 338
at 4 p.m. on Thursday, July 29. Practice is set for 11
a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, July 30.
On Saturday, July 31,
practice begins at 8 a.m., with racing starting as soon
as practice is over. All classes will race their first,
or qualifying, motos and last-chance qualifiers on
Saturday.
Practice begins at 8 a.m.
on Sunday, August 1, followed by final motos in all
classes. Pro riders will race their first moto at noon,
and the Pro final will be held at 3 p.m.
