ATVA National Motocross
Championships action gets started February 4-5 at Glen
Helen Raceway in San Bernardino, California, with Tim
Farr hoping to repeat last year's win.
But defending national
champ John Natalie will be riding with confidence. And
Team Suzuki/Yoshimura's duo of Doug Gust and Jeremiah
Jones will be racing the new Suzuki LT-R 450 for the first
time.
Hang on to your handlebars,
this is just the start of the season!
The track this year will
be even more fun than last year. Promoter Lori Bryant
says there will be some changes to the track geared just
for ATVs.
Practice is set for Friday,
February 3, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
On Saturday, a riders
meeting is set for 7:30 a.m., with racing action to immediately
follow practice. New this year, Pro-Am Production will
race all motos on Saturday.
Sunday’s schedule
will start out the same as Saturday. The big show will
start at noon and 3 p.m. when the top MX riders from all
across the nation put it all on the line and launch off
the starting gate. Pro-Am Unlimited will race both motos
on Sunday.
Suzuki picked the Glen
Helen track and the days just prior to the Glen Helen
race for their World Press introduction of the all-new,
race-ready LT-R450. Press from around the world will be
on hand to be the first to ride the R450.
Suzuki will also allow
several editors and selected people to actually enter
and race the new R450s at the National race. Plus, Suzuki
hopes to announce a dealer open house and Pro autograph
session soon. So stay tuned to www.ATVAonline.com for
details.
