McGrath today
commented on the specifics regarding the previously
announced plans for the 2004 AMA Supermoto Series.
"For this upcoming Supermoto season, I am personally
helming my own race effort. Because the Honda CRF450
is my clear choice for this race series it was only
natural for me to affiliate myself with Honda’s
American Supercamp, which already has a partnership
deal in place with White Brothers Racing. I am
affiliating my Supermoto race effort with an already
existing program as opposed to creating a whole new
official team."
During the supermoto
season I really want to keep my options open. I may do
two races or most of the series. I’m just not in a
position to commit to a full-time team."
McGrath went on to
say, "All of my existing sponsors remain in place with
Parts Unlimited/Thor as one of my main sponsors for
not only Supermoto but all other areas of my racing
endeavors."
McGrath’s present
supermoto sponsor roster includes: American Honda, Fun
Bike Center, Red Bull, Hot Wheels, Pro Circuit,
Alpinestars, Bell Helmets, Troy Lee Designs, SPY
Optics, PJ1, Asterisk, Boost Mobile, DC Shoes, Kicker
Audio, One Industries, Renthal, Hinson Clutches,
Weekend Warrior, Dunlop and Haro Bikes.
As for the American
Supercamp, McGrath looks forward to his involvement
with the kids participating in the program and during
his post-retirement era has even put out a Techniques
DVD, now available at www.clutchfilms.com. (A major
distribution deal for this DVD series will be
announced soon!)
