Reviews: Clear Guard ATV Headlight Protection Kit

Clear-Guard

Here's a product every ATV owner should take a look at, Clear Guard's ATV Headlight Protection kits. Have you ever had to replace a Headlight on your ATV? If you have than you all ready know it will set you back about $200 ouch!

Clear Guard Headlight Protection Kits are designed to eliminate headlight lens breakage and scratches. They  are manufactured from a press polished thermoplastic vinyl material treated with a durable highly polished finish to form a flexible optically clear sheet. This material offers scratch resistance, dimensional stability, excellent clarity and weathering capabilities, as well as good RF resistance. Coupled with the strongest 3M adhesive available, each meets or exceeds the material requirements of the Department of Transportation (DOT) and the American National Standards (ANSI) Code for safety.

Installation Instructions

IMPORTANT: Please read the instructions thoroughly before beginning application.

1) Prepare a alcohol/water solution using rubbing alcohol (Isopropyl Alcohol) using 1 part alcohol to 1 part water.

2) Thoroughly clean the surface of the lenses using the alcohol solution. NOTE: The lenses MUST be free of all grease, wax, tar, or dirt. Dry with a lint-free cloth.

3) Before removing any of the paper backing from the light shields, test each piece to assure proper location and fit.

4) For best results the lenses and the shields should be warm to the touch. This can be accomplished by turning on the lights to warm the lenses or using a blow dryer.

5) Wet your hands and fingers with the alcohol solution and make sure they stay wet thorough out the installation process. WARNING: Handling the shield with dry fingers will leave permanent visible marks on the adhesive.

6) Carefully remove the backing from the adhesive side of the shield, spray the adhesive with the alcohol solution, and apply the shield to the lens and align with the outer edges of the light.

 7) IMPORTANT: To avoid excess moisture from being trapped under the shield, be sure to squeegee the entire shield several times from the center out using increasingly firm strokes. Use the blow dryer as necessary to evaporate the excess solution and keep the shield warm and pliable.

NOTE: The shields may have a slightly hazy appearance after the initial installation. This is caused by residual moisture being trapped under the shield and is normal. The moisture will dissipate over a time depending on the ambient temperature and humidity levels.

PROS:
-All kits include a squeegee.
-All kits are, computer designed and die cut.
-Affordable (prices range from $19.99 and up).
- Headlight Kits have been tested to withstand
impacts of 120 MPH (tested using 1" diameter rock).
- Easy to apply, optically clear, will not crack or yellow over time.
-And best of all! MANUFACTURED IN THE UNITED STATES.

CONS:
NONE!

Conclusion:

Every Clear Guard kit that we've installed fit perfectly.  Affordably priced, Clear Guard Headlight Protection kits are a high quality way to protect the stock unit.  After testing the product on the Project ATV's under the extreme conditions in the Hot Arizona sun, we think Clear Guard has a winner with this product!
